PAK live.hub Installation
This guide addresses adminstrators or PAK admin users in case of a separate installation of the PAK live.hub without a PAK familiy installer. The installation requires adminstrator rights.
Setup Wizard
Execute the installation file to launch the setup wizard on the computer of your choice. Confirm with "Next".
Please read and accept the license agreement. Confirm with "Next".
Service Configuration
Customize the service with
- the mDNS instance name to enable a client to find and use the service. Clients store the service instance name as a persistent way to access the service. By selecting "default" the instance name "PAK live.hub" will be assigned. You have the possibility to assign a customized name, e.g. the name of the computer where the PAK live.hub will be running.
- an optional group name. If not otherwise explicitly recommended you can leave this empty.
- the service port. The port number identifies the port which is used for the internal communication protocol. By default the port 10001 is assigned.
- the configuration of the reconnection to measurement devices which were available but disconnected from the PAK live.hub. By default the reconnect intervall is 5 seconds while the reconnect timeout is 500 seconds.
License Configuration
Customize the licensing with
- the hostname of the license service. If the License Manager is installed on the same computer leave the entry set to localhost per default.
- the port number of the license service. If the License Manager is installed on the same computer leave the entry set to 3334 per default.
- the maximum data rate (in MB/s) to be used. The data rate can also be set later.
Installation Configuration
Leave the checkmark set at "start service now" per default. The other two are optional and not required. Confirm with "Next".
Change the destination folder of the installation if necessary. Confirm with "Next".
The PAK Cloud IO service is ready to be installed. Confirm with "Install".
config.xml
For checking the correct installation you can open the config.xml at C:\Users\Public\Documents\MuellerBBM-VAS\PAK live.hub with an editor, e.g. Notepad++®. At the tag "license" the correct credentials of the License Manager should be noted. Futhermore, it is possible to reduce the logging of the Windows® Event Log by changing the tag "log level" from "info" to "error". However, it is necessary to stop the service before editing the config.xml and to restart it after the changes are done.
