Base elements of PAK insight

The PAK insight user interface has three main sections.

Result section

The result section is based on the PAK graphic engine with one datatype for all measurements. Experienced PAK users may find many known elements, yet also new users will get along quickly with the multiple possibilities of zooming, "View single diagram", "Copy curve data" and many others.

If a 3D data type is selected, every selected position/measurement will be shown in a separate diagram. For 2D data types you will find one diagram for each position with a comparison or average of the selected measurements in each.

In the navigation you can

  • implicitely select measurements to display or compare by the "variations" tab
  • select "Positions/Channels"
  • select "Analysis"

Positions/Channels

This tab allows to select other positions that are contained in the measurements.
When opening the tab you will see a window like this:

Position selection

This shows a list of all measurement positions found in the selected measurements. In the left element you can assign a diagram number to each position. If no diagram number is assigned, the position will not be displayed.

Analysis

Analysis tab

This tab allows a simple selection of different analysis and representation modes.

The most important one is the "Analysis" section allowing the selection of n'th octave (Nth), APS (APS), Order-APS (OAPS) and Overall Level (Lvl.).

The "Reduce" option allows averaging of spectra over time or extraction of a bandpass level from spectral data. Please note that the "Lev.curve" option is also used for single order display.

"Group of Meas." allows a statistic over all selected measurements. "Sgl." shows data of all individual measurements, "Avg." shows an average over all selected measurements.

Compare section

The last section has two tabs

  • List: All selected measurements are listed here and can be either displayed individually or as a group of measurements by CTRL+Click
  • Compare: This allows easy comparison of different variations. This is described in more detail in the next tutorial.
